How to Enjoy Whispering Hollow Without Rushing

Whispering Hollow is short enough to finish in a weekend, but rushing it misses the point entirely. We played it twice — once quickly, once slowly — and the slow run was far better.

Talk to everyone, even the residents who seem to have nothing new to say. The story hides in small lines of dialogue, and skipping them makes later puzzles feel arbitrary.

When a puzzle stumps you, walk away for a minute in-game and explore elsewhere. The answers are usually hiding in a detail you already saw. The hint system is gentle if you really need it, but we found we rarely did.

There's no combat and no time pressure, so let the atmosphere do its work. This is a game to sink into, not sprint through. Give it a quiet evening and it repays you.
